7 Foods That You Didn't Realize Go Together ...

Everyone has a few wily food combinations that have a way of making your friends and family cringe, at least that is, until you get them to actually try it. If you’re an adventurous eater then hopefully you’ll be adding a few extra items the grocery list this week. If not, pick one and add it anyway. Do it.

7. Bacon and Chocolate

I know what you’re thinking and you’re exactly right. This is very weird; maybe the weirdest one on this list. My dad and I found this at a fall festival the year before last. We were hesitant, but we decided why not, and went for it anyway. We took the first bite and were stunned at how good it was. Then we took the second bite and it quickly got super disgusting. My recommendation is keep it to one bite.

6. Biscuits and Gravy and Grape Jelly

This is mostly a southern thing, so if you’re from the south then I’m sure you know all about this. If not, then you’re in for a treat. I know this sounds kind of crazy, but I promise if you try this once you’ll never go back.

Frequently asked questions

5. Wendy’s Fries and Frosties

I think everyone knows this little trick right now, but it’s too eclectic and delicious not to mention. Chocolate and vanilla both work for me, but it’s up to you to pick your poison.

4. PB&J and Sour Cream and Onion Chips

This sounds a lot more gross than it actually is. Everyday when I would to come home from school, I used to make a PB&J sandwich and then crush up sour cream and onion chips on it and then enjoy it while SciFi ran reruns of Quantum Leap. This probably isn’t for everyone, but it’s one blast from my past that I like to relive once in a while.

3. Eggs and Grape Jelly

Here’s another one that’s fairly common, but I’ve only recently discovered it in the last couple of years. Since then it’s become a staple of my breakfast menu. I like to take it a step further and put the eggs on jelly toast with bacon on top. I actually crave this meal sometimes.

The combination of savory and sweet really hits the spot. The salty crispness of the bacon perfectly compliments the smooth, fruitiness of the grape jelly, while the eggs bring it all together with their rich, satisfying flavor. Plus, it’s an easy way to jazz up your morning meal and bring a bit of unexpected joy to the breakfast table. I never thought I'd be one to mix such polar opposite flavors, but it's a delightful surprise every time. Give it a try, and it might just become your new favorite too.

2. Peanut Butter, Marshmallow Cream, Cinnamon, and Sugar

I call this the Diabolical Sandwich because it is absolutely diabolical. I’m not sure how I came up with this, but man, am I glad that I did. I toast two pieces of bread, smother way too much peanut butter and marshmallow cream over each piece of, next I top it off with cinnamon and sugar, and then I wash it down with a tall glass of milk. I haven’t made one in a while, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be picking up all the fixings at the grocery after writing this.

1. Pizza and French Fries

This is one that I’m surprised hasn’t already caught on. I swear by it. I make it myself all the time. I love getting frozen pizzas and adding McDonald’s French fries to it. I’ve only found one restaurant in the country that even serves it, and I just found that last week. Suffice it to say, I will definitely be going back there.

Hope I’ve given you a few extra items to pick up the next time you’re at the grocery. Do you swear by any crazy combos that I left off of the list?
